Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Cook's Ridge Gwynn Creek Loop for its immersive forest bathing experience and the option to customize hike lengths. While some note the lack of grand vistas or waterfalls, the lush greenery and the soothing sounds of Gwynn Creek are consistently highlighted as major draws. The trail's varied terrain offers a good workout, though some sections can be steep and muddy.

"Really fun quick little trail if you want to get some good vertical quickly and do some Forest bathing.

You have a few options to make it a short quick hike, or a longer one and it's kind of cool that depending on which you choose there at least two points about 0.7 mi in and then a little over a mile in that both bring you back to the trailhead."

"Connected Cook's Ridge with Gwynn Creek. Beautiful hike through a lush forest. Not another soul on an early Tuesday morning. Had there been a view good views or a waterfall or the trail was creekside for a good ways I’d’ve given a 5 star rating. The Cooks Ridge section is steep, muddy and rooty so it’s best done uphill. It seems lightly travelled compared to the Gwynn Creek leg so there is a lot of foliage leaning into the trail. My umbrella didn’t keep my pants and boots dry. Gwynn Creek trail is generally wide and relatively smooth. In early May I was never out of earshot of running water, with at least a dozen seasonal creeks tumbling down the draws into Gwynn Creek. By the time the trail is close enough to hear and see Gwynn creek regularly the ocean is drawing near."
