What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ashland Cemetery is a historic site with ongoing community efforts for preservation, though reviews indicate significant concerns about upkeep, management rudeness, and maintenance issues like overgrown areas and damaged headstones. While some appreciate the historical significance and volunteer work, others express deep disappointment with the current state of the grounds and the treatment by staff.
"I love the fact that Ms.Cora will not let any of you take her down, she is a strong woman. I myself will be placed in her and her families hands when it is my time to go. Hopefully I will be close to my family. When this happens."

"Today at noon I went to the cemetery to reflect and mourn. I was only there about 15 minutes and a woman parked close to me, walked over and asked what I was doing there. I was sitting, obviously in a saddened state that was visibly. I responded I was just sitting there and asked who she was. She said she was the owner and if I want there to visit a grave I need to leave because people have been doing drugs and vandalizing. I again responded I was there to mourn and was not breaking any laws and asked her to leave me to be alone. She continued to stand only a couple feet from me with hands on her hips, and trying to be confrontational. It was very obvious I'm not doing anything wrong, just sitting in my truck, under a tree on a road that dead ends. I pointed out that if she cared so much for the property she would actually take care of it instead of grass over grown, trees that fell years ago covering graves and stones. I have no idea how such a cruel woman ever thought she should work around the deceased or those grieving."

"Absolutely disgraceful. Hardly any upkeep. Weeds everywhere, dead plants, broken headstones, sunken headstones, garbage. A large hole over one of the old graves (almost like a small sinkhole) that was deep enough that you could see coffin. My great great great grandparents are buried here and the state of the cemetery was disturbing. The dead and the family of the dead deserve far better treatment than this. I hope somehow there will be a group or something that can help clean it up."
