What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mount Mora Cemetery is lauded for its stunning mausoleums and rich historical significance, offering a visually captivating experience for visitors. While some areas are beautifully maintained, others may appear overgrown, reflecting the challenges of upkeep for a non-profit organization. Despite this, the cemetery remains a popular spot for history enthusiasts and photographers alike.
"Get away from the beautiful mausoleums near the entrance and the place is mostly a wreck. The Association that maintains this cemetery is a not for profit org and in 2023 they spent over $22,000 on "Lawn Care & Repairs" according to the causeiq website. The grass is very long in places, but I'm mostly frustrated by the number of markers that should be upright but aren't. In a couple of spots it looks like a bomb went off. I'm attaching photos of this clustermess. Doesn't look like that money was very well spent."

"The oldest cemetery in Saint Joseph is full of history. There are many gravesites and family plots throughout, mausoleums that are varied and interesting to see, family names of passers through Saint Joseph on the Westward Expansion and family names of residents from history to present day are all buried here. Lovely carvings and headstones set amongst established trees and green grass make this a restful setting for those who wish to see the sights and for families who are looking for historic locations to visit. Graves are well tended and kept clean of debris, overgrown weeds and underground pests like gophers and moles."
