What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Secret Woods Nature Center for its peaceful, shaded trails and abundant wildlife, calling it a 'hidden gem' and a great escape from urban life. It's noted as a family-friendly spot with educational exhibits. However, some find the 'nature in the raw' aspect, particularly bold raccoons, a bit intimidating for younger children or those preferring more cultivated parks.
"A great place if you are a raccoon! I like animals, but I am NOT secure when huge raccoons are walking right near you. It is definitely nature in the raw, but I was afraid to leave the car to sit out and eat or walk the paths. Not for the faint of heart, or if you like a more clean, cultivated park. I would be afraid to bring my kids here- big bees and bigger raccoons."

"My kids, my best friend, her husband & I went walking on the trail here. It was my second time walking for more than 30 mins in Florida. And this I must say was a very good exercise and trail. We saw lots of varieties of crabs, birds, spiders, and plants. My family and I enjoyed this nature walk. It was clean and quiet. I took a few pictures while walking. I must say it was definitely peaceful, relaxing and calming to be on this trail."

"I’ve lived on Peter’s roads for decades and never went to explore these trails. I did go once to a wedding at their cabin.
The trails were perfect and well kept. Loved the board walk, some with rails others without. I also liked how some trails were both board walk and mulch trail on and off.
Loved taking the kids with their scooters. They had a blast.
I loved how all of the trails were shaded. I loved the swampy areas.
The manatee overlook is still under construction and I would really like to go back once it’s complete.
I did all of the trails and it took about one hour.
They also had an area blocked off in the parking lot with a kids play area , restrooms , shade and water."
