Reviews Summary
Port Everglades receives mixed reviews, with many praising its role as a major cruise and commercial shipping hub. However, some travelers report significant disorganization, rude staff, and parking challenges, leading to a less-than-ideal embarkation experience.
"I drive a 18 wheeler and haul very, very long cargo. They are expanding one of the docks and are using 80-90 foot long pipes. I have delivered a few of these there.
If your one of the other drivers doing the same thing, I can tell you it is a decent drop.
Getting into the port you 100% need a TWIC card. The gate entry goes well.
The crane crew gets you out pretty quickly without unnecessary delay.
Make SURE you leave at least 2 straps on when moving from the staging area to the crane!
PPE including LONG PANTS is mandatory.
If your going to one of the cruise terminals then the above review will be absolutely useless to you. I'm working in areas your not allowed and your on the other side of the fence going on vacation.
I have no idea what it is like over there.
Enjoy your trip, return safely, and remember when they say, "Be back at the ship by 2pm", they mean 2pm! If your late they absolutely WILL leave you behind and YOU have to pay to fly to the next stop."

"Most of the staff are nice but you have some that are extremely rude! The person guiding guests at the escalator/elevator was forcing guests to use the elevator. The sign shows one hand must be free, hold the hand rail and your luggage handle. Nope this lady refused and kept forcing people to line up at the elevator. Talk about a slow and messy disembark!
We have had several issues at this port but after vacation never taken the time for a review."
Elizabeth Kibby
"Staff was extremely rude to our uber driver both times. Staff also yelled at cruisers. Most ports offer shopping of some sort to use before or after your cruise….not this one. So if you’re trying to pass time before you board go somewhere else."
