What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the incredible panoramic views from the summit, calling the drive itself a highlight. Many appreciate the well-maintained road and the surprising visitor center at the top. Some find the toll price a bit high and caution about the steep, winding descent requiring careful braking.
"Wow! We missed out on this 3 years ago because of timing coming through town and the fog at the top. But this year, everything worked out and I'm so glad we spent the money to do this. The views: INCREDIBLE!! The temperature is less than that at the base so be mindful of that. Today, Oct. 26, it was almost 56° at the base and 42° at the peak. Please make sure to follow the instruction to be mindful of your vehicle brakes on the way down! The grades are steep and there are a lot of tight winding hairpin bends. Be courteous of the others visiting. Don't drive like a jerk."

"This was a cool trip. We went there to drive the road and see the views on the way up and at the top. I had no idea about all the cool stuff they had in the visitor center/museum at the top. That was a nice surprise. There is also a trail at the top, but you have to be early enough. There is a sign at the start of the trail that says it closes at 3:30. The trail was beautiful. It was a good time overall."
Andrew Sands
"Great, almost 360 views. Very easy toll road drive with enough space for passing traffic all the way to the top. There's a short hike from the car park at the top to a separate viewpoint and several parking spaces on the way up with different views of the surrounding area.
There's a portable restroom at the top."
