"We visited Lake Shaftsbury State Park for a kayaking trip. While the lake is on the smaller side, it still made for a pleasant and relaxing adventure. There are quite a few underwater plants, but they didn’t interfere too much with paddling.
The park has a lovely, well-maintained beach area that’s sectioned off for swimmers, as well as a separate launch area for kayaks and other watercraft—which is a big plus. We appreciated the clean surroundings and the many picnic tables scattered throughout the park.
Although the lake might be a bit too small for extended kayaking, it was still a great spot to enjoy nature and take in the scenery. Overall, we had a very enjoyable visit."

"The lake was pretty but we were told after we paid that we would not see any colorful leaves and that we were two weeks too late so that was disappointing. Make sure you check the fall foliage maps before coming here!"
