What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Urimbirra Wildlife Park for its affordable entry and the incredible opportunity to get up close with Australian native animals, especially the friendly kangaroos and koalas. Many appreciate the interactive experiences and the value for money, noting improvements in park upkeep and staff helpfulness. While smaller than some other attractions, it offers a charming and memorable wildlife encounter.
"I’ve been here twice with my kids and we have all enjoyed being up close with the wildlife. The pricing is fair, there are not a vast range of animals, but it’s a wildlife park not a zoo.
The kangaroos are pretty placid and welcome pats, especially if you purchase feeding bags. They can get a bit handsie when you have feeding bags, this most recent visit I saw multiple kids arms be grabbed and held on to as well as whole bags snatched from them.
When you’re in the park, it is almost rare to see any staff around, the grounds is quite large and you have free range to roam around and see all the animals.
I’ve been during school term and school holidays and honestly it’s not super noticeable when there’s more people, the only time you kind of noticed it is when you’re in line to pat the koalas.
The koala experience is not like when you go to the zoo and pay to hold a koala, but it is included with the entry fee and you get to go right up to the koalas and pat them on the back. They bring koalas into small fenced enclosures, open up the gate to see the koalas and give them pats on the back while they lounge and eat. I am unsure where the koalas are kept regularly as each time I’ve come it has been right at the start of the day and the koalas are not in the same pens to begin with.
Multiple bird Avery’s are around the park with one walk-through Avery close to the entrance, the walk through is mostly rainbow lorikeets, but there are a few other birds inside. In the other Avery you can see many different breeds of Australian native birds including tawny frogmouth owls and cockatoos. There are also multiple peacocks and a peahen roaming the grounds freely that you can get close to but they will run/fly/jump away if you run up to them or spook them.
There is a small section with a reptile enclosure, including some Australian snakes and lizards as well as a few crocodiles.
Further into the ground there awesome wombat enclosures usually they are in their dens which you’re able to see through a pain of glass. There are also a few dingoes in a fenced off enclosure that has got electrocuted fencing. They often are right up at the fences waging their tails when people are around, there enclosure is large and they seem very happy.
This is a great experience for younger kids and anyone who just wants to feed a kangaroo and pat a koala."

"We love this place. It's reasonably priced and not too large for little ones. We bring our grandson here regularly as he loves it.
They have limited snacks so best to bring your own food with you."
Jill Drake
"Our family enjoyed our visit to Urimbirra Wildlife Park. The park was small but had enough animals for the kids to enjoy. There were plenty of kangaroos that you can feed and we also did the koala encounter which both kids and adults loved."
