Reviews Summary

Visitors love the imaginative pirate and ocean-themed playground, especially the lighthouse climb, making it a hit for kids aged 2-9. While generally clean and well-maintained, some have experienced flea issues during warmer months, and amenities like restrooms are a short walk away.

"Haven’t been here in quite awhile! I love the ocean theme. They have a lighthouse the kids can climb up, a boat, and pirate ship. We were there when the pool was open so could walk up and use the restrooms not sure if they are always available."

"My 5 year old calls this the “pirate park” and definitely fuels imagination. Several slides a set of swings. There are several sport courts near by. There are some walking paths. This park has some shade. One picnic table. A few benches. Line of sight is good, may have to walk to other side to see…however you can go between structures. The lighthouse is about the only “hiding” space. A parent could join in play as most areas have more then one way up. Some things to note: you have to walk to the playground as it does not have it’s own parking lot, it does not have bathrooms near or water."

"Nice park with a playground. Has a swimming pool but was closed when I visited."

In-depth insights and expert knowledge

The Pirate's Paradise Playground

Countryside Park boasts a highly imaginative playground with a strong ocean and pirate theme. Visitors consistently mention the pirate ship structure, complete with slides and swings, which is a huge hit with children aged 2 to 9. The lighthouse climb is another standout feature, offering a unique play experience and a fun spot for kids to explore. The park's design encourages imaginative play, allowing children to create their own adventures on the high seas.

While the playground is a major draw, it's important to note its amenities. Parking is available but requires a short walk to the play area. Crucially, there are no restrooms or water fountains directly adjacent to the playground, so visitors should come prepared with their own supplies. Despite these minor inconveniences, the sheer fun and engaging nature of the pirate-themed equipment make it a worthwhile destination for families seeking active outdoor play. Reddit

Seasonal Considerations & Park Maintenance

The park is generally well-maintained, with visitors often praising its cleanliness and upkeep. However, a significant concern raised by some is the potential for flea infestations, particularly during warmer months like July. One reviewer reported being overwhelmed by fleas within seconds of arriving, highlighting the need for awareness and potential preventative measures. Reddit

Beyond the flea issue, the park's swimming pool is a notable feature, though it appears to have seasonal access. When open, it provides an additional recreational option, and its proximity means restrooms might be accessible from that area. Visitors should verify pool operating dates and times if this is a key part of their visit. The presence of some shade is a welcome aspect, offering respite on sunny days, though the availability of picnic tables and benches can be limited.
