"Whenever I visit my best friend in Denver, I always bring my clubs, and Walnut Creek Golf Preserve is one of his top recommendations. The course was in excellent condition, with beautiful scenery that made each hole memorable. It offered a great mix of challenge and enjoyment, and I had a fantastic time. I’m definitely playing here again on a future trip back to Colorado!"

"Great golf course. "Links style" but you have to be accurate off the tee. None of the holes border one another, so a missed fairway will cost you. First cut of rough is penal and the second cut is fescue that's thigh high. Greens and bunker complexes are in great shape. Greens are fast but they roll true. I can see why they host the US Open Qualifiers. If you struggle off the tee, I recommend playing it from a tee box closer than you think. Golf course becomes very difficult with wind. Course is set up to walk. only one instance where you're walking a long way from a green to the next tee box. The only thing holding it back from being 5 stars are some patches on the course that are a little beat up (you can see it in one of the photos below)."

"On May 2, my wife I hosted our daughter’s wedding at your Walnut Creek Golf Preserve facility. Our selection of Walnut Creek was based on several factors: the location, the facility quality and cost, but the primary reason for making the decision was because of your event manager, Sydni. She was welcoming, knowledgeable, and gave us confidence that the wedding would go off without a hitch. She listened to our needs, quieted our concerns and was a very good communicator, and she delivered! Living in Nashville makes planning all the little details challenging. Sydni took control and guided us through the entire process. She made herself available as needed, and also connected us with your executive chef, John, who walked us through what the menu possibilities could be and suggested quantities we would need. The meal was fabulous! Chef John also created a special menu for the children attending.
We cannot tell you how pleased we are that we chose Walnut Creek! Everything that was promised, was delivered! Food and quantities were just what our guests needed, and the quality was as good as promised. The staff, from servers to bartenders and everyone else associated with the event were wonderful.
Thank you so much for helping to make our daughter’s wedding very memorable. And a very special thank you to Sydni. She was exceptional!
We highly recommend Sydni, Chef John, and Big Fork at Walnut Creek!
Thank you again!
John & Tracy Halloran"

Understanding the Links-Style Challenge
Players often describe the course as demanding accuracy off the tee. The first cut of rough is penal, meaning it's difficult to play from, and the second cut is often thigh-high fescue, which can swallow golf balls whole. This design choice makes it crucial to hit fairways to score well. The greens are noted for being fast and true, requiring a delicate touch with the putter.
Golfers who enjoy a strategic challenge and are confident in their ball-striking will find Heritage Golf Course Westmoor particularly rewarding. It's a course where course management and precision are as important as raw power. The wind can also be a significant factor, adding another layer of complexity to the game, making it a true test of golf.
Navigating Course Conditions and Pace of Play
Pace of play is an important consideration. One reviewer recounted an incident where their group was told to keep up the pace, even after being hit by a ball from the group behind them. This highlights the expectation for players to maintain a steady rhythm throughout their round. Marshals are present to ensure the course flows smoothly, so being mindful of your pace is key to a pleasant experience for everyone.
It's also worth noting the no-show fee policy. Some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with being charged after the fact without prior notification, especially if a player drops out. It's advisable to clarify this policy when booking and to ensure your group size is accurate to avoid unexpected charges.
