What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Iditapark is a beloved community park in Wasilla, praised for its extensive playground and diverse recreational facilities that entertain children and active individuals alike. While many appreciate the variety of activities and picnic spots, some reviews point to ongoing concerns about cleanliness and safety in certain areas, particularly the skate park.
"It's the biggest park in the valley, and the kids love it. There are some health and safety concerns, though, and it needs to be cleaner. People walk their dogs and don't clean up after them, so watch where you and your child walk.
There are frequently degenerates partying in the pavilion, getting drunk and smoking pot, shouting profanity, and playing obnoxiously loud and inappropriate music.
There is a bit of graffiti teaching your children new words, and the ground has filthy cigarette butts everywhere you look.
The park has become somewhat run down and has not been maintained as it should.
The bathrooms are set up better than many other park bathrooms, but the stall door is broken from being kicked in, and there will never be soap in the dispensers.
A couple of minutes walk away is the skate park which is known to everyone in the valley as the place where teens buy, sell, and do drugs. Ten and twelve-year-olds smoke cigarettes off the ground, and homeless people buy alcohol for kids. If you love and care about your kids, do not let them go to the skate park without you."

"Iditapark, located in the heart of Wasilla is always a great place to bring the kids on a sunny day. The park has everything a kid could dream of to climb, slide, and hide in. The park is surrounded with covered picnic tables, open grassy areas, bike trails, a skateboard park, bike pump track, tennis courts, basketball courts and public restrooms. I recommend checking the area out seeing what it has to offer."

"What a great park! I've been taking the kids here since they could walk, Mikey is 5 now. It is starting to show it age. I hade to call the Parks Dept about some of the equipment. But when things get used this hard for this long who doesn't expect that. Still love the super smooth slide and the prop boat, plane and train. Can't believe my oil guy can climb up the walls!"
