What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Chapel Cave's impressive size and unique, chapel-like formation, calling it a 'hidden gem.' The opportunity to see horses on the trail adds to the charm. However, some find the trail navigation challenging due to subtle markings and can be deterred by muddy conditions and horse droppings.
"Amazing spot to visit. Fortunately no one else was there. The cave is huge with smaller caves nearby. No rain in the area so no views of waterfalls but a great hike either way. Take a flashlight to see the inside of the cave better. It goes back pretty far. This is shared with a bridal trail so you may see some riders on their horses. I saw 3 while I was there."

"Took a bit to get there hiking wise. It also doesn't have a parking lot that marks where it is at. Not a really well known trail like old man's cave but it's really cool and you can climb all around! A hidden gem. There is also a smaller cave before it that is fun to climb around in. Not as deep or large but still cool."

"This was definitely a fun adventure, but I would say it isn’t for beginners. The GPS had me park in a lot with no maps or park signs so I had to guess at which trail to follow based on the marked trees (they’re fairly well marked but not easy if you’ve never done this sort of hike). As others have said, this trail would be more convenient on horse as it can be steep in some areas, but I did just fine walking! I went during the dry season so it wasn’t muddy, but there were horse droppings and I could see it being quite slippery if wet. The scenery was absolutely STUNNING. I forgot to take a photo of the actual cave but it was incredible. I didn’t see any waterfalls, but this could also be due to the dry season. I’ll be revisiting for sure :)"
