"A jewel in the area!
We made a deliberate drive to visit based on the recommendations of others and were not disappointed. Grounds and trails are very well kept and traffic was very light for us.
A picnic area is available, keeping the rest of the area very clean and neat. Plenty of amazing photo opportunities and areas for quiet reflection, meditation, and appreciation. Several areas have chairs for seating, in and out of the shade of mature trees. Water features are expertly designed and installed.
Cell service is very limited, but that’s probably a good thing, to not distract you from a wonderful piece of paradise."

"Wow, certainly not your typical botanical garden. What a great space, the Asian inspired settings made me feel as if I had time-traveled to Japan and China w/the artful arrangement of plants and rocks. Thoughtfully arranged “vignettes” w/no beginning and no end just flow from one scene to another. A peaceful space for quiet reflection. You could easily spend many hours here. Chairs are provided at many vantage points to maximize views. A wonderful place for meditation. Highly recommend."

"We recently discovered Innisfree Garden in Millbrook, NY, and we couldn't be more delighted. Even the long dirt driveway to the parking area is enchanting. There is a simple booth at the entrance way, and the two women there were very sweet and helpful, pointing out which paths to take on their large handout map.
The garden is on 185-acres of designed and natural landscapes around the serene Tyrrel Lake. Established between 1930 and 1960 as the private garden of Walter and Marion Beck, it was inspired by scroll paintings of the 8th-century Chinese poet and painter Wang Wei.
This is a beautiful spot to visit. There are gravel paths, stone walks, hidden stairways, little ponds, and waterfalls. You can bring a packed lunch and enjoy the view at picnic tables on a low hill. I know this is an overused phrase, but Innisfree Garden is truly a hidden gem."
