"Church of San Blas (15th century), on Avda. de San Blas, 25, in Cáceres (Extremadura), located on the old Roman road "iter ab Emerita Caesaraugustam" -road no. 24 of Antonino Pío from Mérida to Zaragoza-. Late Gothic church with a single nave and four sections, with an apse (semicircular head); a gabled nave roof and the main chapel with an irregular quarter-sphere vault. Pointed arches resting on pillars. It was renovated or added to in 1547 and 1556-60. Two entrances, one with a lintel on the Epistle side, where the sacristy is also located (1779), although there was another earlier sacristy from 1636- and another with a semicircular arch, with a triple-arched portico. Simple bell gable with a single span. In 1749 an image of San Blas was placed in a niche, since the original image The chapel of San Blas is located in the parish church of Santiago, to which the chapel was attached until it became a parish church in 1958. The portico was replaced in 1930 with ironwork to prevent access by beggars and animals. The rose window and the relocation of the bell gable date from the 1961 renovation."
