What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Rietvlei Dam is praised for its beautiful natural setting, abundant wildlife, and excellent fishing opportunities, making it a lovely outing for nature lovers and anglers. However, visitors frequently point out the neglected state of the facilities, particularly the bathrooms, which detracts from the overall experience.
"It was an amazing trim to Rietvlei dam, had a few runs but they get of as soon jou put your skepnet in the water so just make sure to get them first at the end of the dam to take your skep net in , dint catch anything but the outing was lovely, I think if you try other stands you'll manage to get the fish out ,would definitely go again"

"Went to Rietvlei this past weekend. Super quite, had a lovely time however if I am expected to pay entrance I expect my money to be put back into the place like the bathrooms. The ablutions were clean but no lights, no lids on the back of the toilets, no hot water and no shower heads. The water just dripped down the wall so no shower was possible and the ladies don't have sanitary bins. Please make changes."
Jessica Ingram
"The park looks very neglected and especially the bathrooms were seriously not up to standard. Also no toilet paper anywhere and all the toilets were dirty. Not sure what kind of people are using them but they need to send cleaning crews. The rest of the reserve is actually looking great and lot's of fishing spots available. The chalets also looked good but are fully booked until February."
