What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for the Dolomite Narzan Pavilion are mixed, with many praising the therapeutic Narzan water, the well-kept grounds, and the professionalism of some medical staff. However, significant concerns are raised about the condition of rooms in older buildings, inconsistent food quality, and occasional issues with facility maintenance like the water park. The price-quality ratio is frequently questioned, especially for stays in less renovated areas.
"Mixed opinion, from the good: medicine and location. I liked the procedures and medical staff. But they did not prescribe exercise therapy or aqua aerobics (as I understood, there was no doctor) and did not offer a replacement from the procedures. Well-kept territory and close to the park and walking areas. Food between 2 and 3, meager, tasteless, although it is a buffet. In principle, this is in the reviews. The rooms are not cleaned, only if you ask them to. Well, the cherry on the cake, in the central building in the summer heat from 35+ there are no splits and air conditioning. In single tiny rooms on the sunny side it is simply stifling during the day. The price for such tiny rooms without cooling is exorbitantly overpriced"

"We did not like it, we do not recommend it. I think the price - quality does not match. We were in the sanatorium from June 29 to July 9 in a standard room. The rooms are spacious, but the furniture is old, moldy, everything is very ancient, the plumbing is rusty, and the tiles are cracked, it is very sad. The maids are polite, the cleaning is superficial. The food is good and varied, we are not picky about food, so we liked everything, it could be more fruit, it was missing. Now about the medical staff ... Rude and ill-mannered. There are very good nurses, there are many of them, but unfortunately in the duty office there were incompetent workers who worsened the condition, rather than helping. The water park is closed, the common pool is in disrepair and not clean ... In general, there was an unpleasant impression."

"As already written in the reviews, the price-quality ratio does not correspond. We were on holiday as a family of 4 (mother + father + two children). 2 weeks. The end of July. The cost of a luxury room is 450 thousand rubles for 4 people + treatment. In general, the room depends on your luck. We were settled in the old building where the luxury room consisted of two rooms - in one room there were two single beds (like in a hostel), in the other room there was a pull-out sofa. In the shower there was a bathtub with a rusty streak. And this is positioned as a luxury.
In the buildings where there were renovations, there are better rooms - good double beds with showers or jacuzzis. But some were unlucky - in two buildings the air conditioning system broke down and the air conditioners worked as fans, circulating air around the room.
Cleaning every day. But our linen was changed every 4 days. There is a shortage of children's robes. The children were lucky to find a couple of them - they wore them for 2 weeks for procedures. The medical treatment is standard for a sanatorium: mud, baths, showers, etc. There are no queues.
Food. When we were choosing a sanatorium, we looked on the website to see what was written about food. Apart from the information that there would be a buffet, there was no other information. Now I understand why. An hour and a half is allocated for meals. Then everything closes. There is nowhere else to eat on the territory of the sanatorium. There is a bar at the water park that is open until 18-00. But in fact, at 17-00 you can buy the rest of the products there.
Menu. Porridge - buckwheat and rice. Well, and oatmeal, sir. (on water). There are no other porridges. Second courses: horns, mashed potatoes, rice, vegetables. And cabbage. Cutlets, boiled sausages, sometimes there were chicken and beef kebabs. First courses - soups, okroshka. If you are not picky, then in principle you will not go hungry. If the children are used to other food, they won't eat this. But overall, it's delicious.
Salads. Mostly cabbage.
Desserts. Well, there aren't any. They gave out buns on the table. There were croissants once (delicious). But if you want to drink something with tea, the choice is small - a piece of butter and bread. Cookies from Magnit.
Choice of drinks. Well, everything is "gorgeous" here too.
Coffee machine (cappuccino, Americano and espresso).
Tea. Compote.
You can also choose water with lemon, water with cucumber and oatmeal. The sanatorium workers probably have oatmeal as their favorite drink. They drink it for breakfast and lunch. And for dinner, water with cucumber.
Fruit is usually in short supply in the south. They gave out sliced fruit - apples, oranges and grapefruits. Watermelon once every 2 weeks.
There are many positive reviews, in which everything is liked and everything is wonderful. The sanatorium is part of Russian Railways. Perhaps Russian Railways employees are given free vouchers, or for half the cost. Well, in this case, the enthusiastic review is understandable.
But if you paid almost half a million for 2 weeks for all of the above, well, I don’t know. Let them look for other sponsors for such a vacation.
And yes, the Internet is crap. Mobile is periodically disconnected."

The Healing Power of Narzan Water
The pavilion offers a range of procedures that leverage the unique composition of Narzan water. These include Narzan baths, where the mineral-rich water is used for therapeutic immersion, and various hydrotherapy treatments like Charcot showers. The effectiveness of these treatments is a key reason many visitors return year after year, praising the medical staff and the positive impact on their well-being.
While the medical benefits are a primary draw, it's important to note that some guests have expressed concerns about the availability of personalized medical advice or exercise programs, suggesting that the focus might be more on standard procedures than tailored wellness plans. Nevertheless, the core offering of Narzan-based therapies remains the pavilion's defining feature.
Navigating Room Conditions and Renovations
Conversely, visitors in older buildings have sometimes encountered issues such as dated furniture, rusty plumbing, cracked tiles, and a general lack of modern amenities. A significant concern raised by multiple reviewers is the absence of air conditioning in older buildings during hot summer months, leading to uncomfortable, stifling conditions. This can greatly impact the overall enjoyment of a stay, especially for those sensitive to heat.
Given these varied experiences, it is highly recommended to inquire about and book rooms in the renovated buildings whenever possible. While these may come at a higher price point, the improved comfort and amenities often justify the cost, ensuring a more pleasant and relaxing stay at the pavilion. Checking recent reviews or contacting the pavilion directly for specifics on building renovations is a wise step before booking.
Dining Experiences and Expectations
For families, especially those with children accustomed to different food preferences, the buffet might present challenges. Some reviewers noted that their children did not enjoy the food provided, suggesting it may not cater to a wide range of palates. The emphasis seems to be on basic, filling meals rather than gourmet or diverse culinary experiences.
While the pavilion aims to provide sustenance, it's advisable for visitors to manage their expectations regarding the food quality and variety. If culinary experiences are a high priority, guests might consider supplementing their meals or exploring dining options outside the pavilion, though these are also limited within the immediate vicinity.
