"The monument is located on the outskirts of Elista. There's a small parking lot nearby where you can leave your car. The monument is on a mound with rails running down them, along which are markers marking the years of exile. Near the last marker is a boxcar used for transporting people. When we visited, the car was open, which is rare on weekdays. But frankly, it would have been better if it had been closed. We were met by a drunk security guard (at least that's what it said on the back of his jacket), who introduced himself as the director. He tried to sell us a sheet of poetry for 200 rubles. When we refused, he became very indignant. We had to leave the car, but I managed to take a few photos. Of course, you can't judge this monument by just one person, but as they say, the unpleasant aftertaste lingered and influenced my assessment."
