Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Poring Canopy Walkway for its spectacular rainforest views and the unique experience of walking high above the jungle floor. The well-maintained bridges and the invigorating trek are often highlighted as positives. However, some find the combined entry fees quite high, and the steep uphill climb can be a significant challenge for those with lower fitness levels.

"I had a lot fun at the Poring Canopy Walk. The trek to the starting tower was quite an effort. The canopy walk are ropes and steel cables suspension bridges hanging from the tallest trees. You would be walking on wooden planks. Netting provides safety on both sides of the plank upward. The walk wasn't too wobbly unless there is a few people on the same walkway. The walk is about 35(?)m above the jungle floor.

The view was spectacular. While the canopy walk presents an opportunity to observe the creatures along the jungle floor it was hard to keep looking downward without getting dizzy. A must visit section of the Poring hotspring park."

"Nice but short canopy walk (4 bridges I believe), after a steep uphill walk from the starting point (bring water). Quite expensive if you only come to visit this, as you need to pay a 50RM conservation fee to get into the Kinabalu Park first, then 10 RM for the walk. There is a good restaurant on site (near hot springs (pay separate again), and a short walk to a forest waterfall is an option"

Luc Eggebeen

"This canopy walk is more interesting than the dirty poring hotspring. The whole track is about 1.3km, with about 700 uphill steps, 5 short stretches of suspended walkways and another 700 steps downhill. You can complete in 30 minutes at a reasonable pace and if you do not need to wait to board the suspended walkways because they allow only 6 people on each bridge at any one time.
Best to avoid if you have heart problems or poor fitness as the high altitude of the area will make this trek tougher than you expected."
