"We got the set ticket which includes entrance for this residence and the other 2 Former Residences. This place was really spacious. It really gives you a glimpse of the lifestyle of wealthy merchants during those period. I really loved the view from the tatami rooms. They also have a museum area which was air conditioned. The staffs here were very attentive and nice."

"In my country, the UK, historical buildings are also cherished, but they are all made of stone. I was truly amazed that the Ozu Residence, a wooden structure, has survived through the Edo, Meiji, Taisho, and even the war-torn Showa era. Everything I saw here deeply moved me."

Lisa Maria Sawamura

"If you like Ozusan like I do, this is a must-see. This was my last stop on my Osu pilgrimage. Several of the rooms contained modern-type sculpture-like and other art pieces, which weren't my cup of tea (but they might be yours!) ... I would have preferred more typical period objects, but the spaces themselves were inspiring, and the "objets d'art" were easy to ignore.

Very pleasant and unobtrusive staff. Be prepared to take shoes off for walking on the tatami. (FYI, I recently learned one should avoid walking on the taped edges. )"
