What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Fukiage Onsen is praised for its free, natural outdoor hot springs and stunning winter scenery. Visitors appreciate the unique experience, though some find the water very hot and facilities basic. The traditional nudity can be a point of consideration for some.
"Free of charge. For some reason google wrongly mentions tickets. It’s surrounded by trees. 2 baths - one is 44 temp, the other one close to 50. 2 toilet boots in the free parking area (not clean). Recommended !"

"Temperature is 5C cool than Biei downtown. A short walk from the destinated carpark, free to use mixed onsen, swimsuit or fully naked allowed, water is quite hot especially for the upper pool, I think best would be come in winter for this onsen experience but then again, road leading to here is windy, with snow and ice covering the road will be made it more dangerous to drive up here."
Will Tan
"Went here with the family as the wife suggested it, maybe wasn’t such a good idea because my daughter didn’t want to see old naked people.
It was really a beautiful location and a very good setup. The people were welcoming and friendly but the water was a bit too hot for us to get in. It hadn’t rained in a while.
I dropped a star as I foolishly used the porta loo at the entrance and holy moly the smell was a bit traumatic. I don’t think it has ever been emptied."
