What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Keramas Beach Bali is celebrated for its stunning, glittering black sand and world-class surf breaks, attracting experienced riders. While the natural beauty is undeniable, visitors often note the presence of beach debris, a common issue in Bali. The beach offers beautiful sunset views and unique local sights like duck herding, with nearby resorts providing convenient amenities.
"This was the dirtiest beach I've visited in Bali. You could easily fill about 20 dump trucks with rubbish without too much effort. Supposed to be a surf beach but I would not surf here if you paid me. I imaging the rivers that carry all this refuse out to the ocean also contain a large percentage of raw sewage (based on the smell at some of the outlets). Otherwise, beautiful beach, if you view from up on the road or from the restaurant the rubbish is less noticeable.
Highlight was a local farmer herding his massive flock of runner ducks along the beach 🦆"

"I’ve never been to a black sand beach before this but wow, Keramas Beach is stunning and the photos don’t do it justice. The sand is really black and it glitters! It’s truly amazing. There was a bit of rubbish on the beach but it wasn’t as bad as sone of the other nearby beaches. I only spent a little bit of time here but I’m so glad I did because it was one of the highlights of my trip. I’ll definitely be back!!"

"We were here at the end of February and there was rubbish on the beach. Practically no one cleaned it up. Sometimes the rubbish was taken away by the ocean and it was a bit cleaner and better (not for sea creatures). Walking along the beach is also not very pleasant. Among the rubbish. The benefit of this is that Europeans can realize how important recycling is and limiting the production of rubbish. Here you can experience a taste of what awaits us if we do not come to our senses. I give 3 stars for the ocean - because it smells and roars fantastically here. The black sand sparkles beautifully in the sun. There are nice pubs by the beach. In them you can watch surfers struggle with the waves. I hope that the authorities will come to their senses and start cleaning the beaches in Bali. Apparently there are fewer tourists already. Because what kind of paradise is it that drowns in rubbish. Burning them in bonfires by the beach is not a solution either. I want to breathe air with the smell of the ocean and not burnt plastic."
