"I love zoos but Wasn't too happy with this place. More of a theme park ride and very expensive for what it was. Most animals can only be seen out the window of the safari truck so you only glimpse them for 10sec or not at all if they're on the wrong side. Not much opportunity to go have a close look at anything you are particularly interested it.
The timings are all based around the shows so even if you get there early you end up stuck in a massive crowd eventually.
The marine park was much better IMO, heaps less people and some incredible species (river monster section) you will not see anywhere in the world. Also some cool lizards you can hold and less common jaguars you can see in this section. If I went again I would skip the safari and just do the marine park.
Final note, food is very expensive in here compared to anywhere else in bali so I highly recommend eating beforehand"
