What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kelingking Beach is lauded for its absolutely breathtaking, iconic T-Rex viewpoint and the stunning natural beauty of its horseshoe-shaped cliff. While the hike down to the beach is challenging and can be crowded, many find the effort rewarding. Visitors should be wary of monkeys and prepare for the heat and steep terrain.
"Amazing beach to see. We stayed on the island so went later in the day around 4pm and it was quieter. We went down the path a little bit which was fine. It gets busier for sunset around 6:15PM. We hired a driver to get here, no entrance charge but just a parking fee.
Cute monkeys running about but watch your belongings.
Highly recommend."

"Super crowded but you'll have a very nice time. From parking to all the way to the beach at the bottom of the cliff, taking all those steep steps, is quite an effort, but you'll have the best experience. Beware of the monkeys as they can snatch anything off your body that's visible to them, including phones from your pockets. Also, there's monkey poop on the railings, so be careful of holding them while on your way up or down.
It's one of the best places for taking pictures and social media content. There are some photography spots that are paid, cash only, but there's a huge line always so waiting for your turn could take easily 20 to 30 minutes roughly. The views are so magical with clean blue water and silver waves crashing against, it's so unrealistic.
It gets very hot and humid here, so a hat, lose fitting clothing and some hydration is recommended for the trip. There's a lot of eateries along the way, some of them accept only cash, some accept cards too. There are stores from where you can shop, just after the parking. There's only one store in the main area that accept only cash.
Highly recommended place to visit if you can steer through huge crowds."

"The views are unreal. It’s crowded at the top, but the further you hike down, the less people there are. The monkeys seem friendlier than the typical touristy spots. Apparently someone is trying to build an elevator so visiting sooner than later would be best before the beach gets overcrowded and there is easier access for even more tourists. 10/10 experience"

The Infamous Kelingking Beach Stairs
Recent discussions and social media posts reveal that construction has begun on a glass elevator to facilitate access to the beach. While this may make the descent easier for some in the future, it also signals a potential shift in the beach's character, with concerns that easier access could lead to overcrowding.
For those who do make it to the bottom, the reward is a stunning, secluded beach with dramatic cliff formations. However, the waves can be strong, making swimming potentially unsafe. The challenging nature of the hike has historically kept the beach less crowded than the viewpoint, offering a more exclusive experience for those willing to undertake the trek.
