What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tembeling Natural Pool is lauded for its stunning beauty and tranquil atmosphere, offering a more secluded experience than other Nusa Penida spots. Visitors rave about the refreshing natural pools and picturesque beach. However, the challenging and potentially dangerous access road is a significant drawback for many, with some recommending local bike taxis for safety.
"Very nice beach and natural pool. Access is hard, very steep steps down to the beach. The ‘road’ is also very dangerous. Do not ride a scooter down if you’re inexperienced or if it’s rained and wet. It’s extremely slippery and in some parts only a few feet wide with a cliff drop off.
Trying to film this i crashed….
rental scooters are not up to this challenge haha. Local taxis are at the top and bottom offering bike rides up/ down for 150.000 each person.
If you walk or ride it’s definitely worth it. Due to access’s it’s a little bit of a nice secret spot, not at all busy compared to other beaches.
Beach is however, too rocky to swim."

"Tembeling Beach is truly beautiful and offers a much more peaceful experience compared to other spots on Nusa Penida. There are fewer tourists, so you can really relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. To reach the beach, it’s about a 1 hour and 15 minutes walk from the main road, but you can also pay a local to take you there by scooter. I wouldn’t recommend going alone by scooter unless you are very experienced, as the road is narrow and steep. Definitely a hidden gem worth the effort!"

"The beach is beautiful. There are some natural pool on the spot. The road access to the location is broken, narrow, step down and dangerous. We hope the local government or authorities will repair the road to the location for good, so there will more tourists will come to the location."

👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Once at the pools, the water is generally calm and shallow enough for supervised play. However, the rocky beach is not ideal for young children. Pack plenty of water and snacks, as facilities are minimal. Consider the trek's difficulty and the heat when planning your visit with little ones.
