What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Bali Botanic Garden for its immense natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and diverse plant collections, making it a great spot for picnics and nature walks. However, recent changes in access and rental policies have led to concerns about cost and convenience, with some finding it less accessible and more expensive than before.
"One of the best and natural botanical gardens in Indonesia. The ticket is quite cheap. We paid about 80k for 2 adults and 1 car. The view is stunning. Suitable for short healing and gathering with family or friends. Besides, they have the site to see the lake from above which gives the vibe of Switzerland when the sun shines. Will definitely come again"
Ori Sunandar
"Beautiful park with lots of lovely scenery, highly recommend visiting.
You can hire a bike, e-scooter or golf buggy to explore the massive park.
Lots of places to sit, relax and enjoy a picnic.
It was nice a cool high up In the mountain, which was a lovely break from the humidity and heat."
Jamie Byrne
"On weekends cars are allowed to enter and the park is transformed into a parking. I visited the bbq area and I have to clean around me so I can relax - littered like usual. There was a good view to the lake, the birds were singing and some young girl was vomiting around after arak abuse may be. There are signs No Drones Allowed, but you can operate if you want for 500k fee."

Exploring the Vast Landscape
Visitors can choose from bicycles, electric bikes, or even golf carts, with prices varying based on the type of rental and duration. While these options enhance accessibility, some travelers have noted that the pricing and route limitations of certain rentals, like the bus service, can be restrictive and feel overpriced, especially for those wanting to explore multiple areas at leisure. The terrain is also noted to be hilly, with ups and downs, which can be challenging for some.
Despite the logistical considerations, the garden offers a peaceful retreat with its dense rainforest, diverse plant collections, and cooler climate. It's a place to reconnect with nature, offering a tranquil escape from the more crowded tourist spots in Bali.
Conservation and Biodiversity
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the garden serves as an important research and educational facility. Visitors can learn about various plant species, their ecological significance, and conservation efforts. The presence of different themed gardens, such as the cactus and succulent garden, highlights the diversity of plant life that can be cultivated and preserved.
While the primary focus is on plant conservation, the garden also supports a variety of wildlife, contributing to the local ecosystem. The serene environment and abundant greenery create a habitat that supports both flora and fauna, making it a valuable natural asset for Bali.
Nearby Attractions and Experiences
For a more interactive experience, especially for families, Bali Farm House is a nearby attraction that has gained popularity. It offers a unique 'farm-themed' environment, complete with animals like alpacas that visitors can interact with and feed. This provides a fun and engaging activity, contrasting with the more tranquil nature of the botanic garden.
Additionally, the Bedugul area is known for its fresh produce markets, where visitors can find local fruits and vegetables. Several aesthetic cafes and restaurants have also sprung up in the vicinity, offering pleasant spots to relax and enjoy the cooler mountain air, such as Stujadidanau.
