The trek to Valikunja is one of the least frequented trails inside Kudremukh National Park. When looking for alternatives to the crowded Kudremukh Peak Trek, most trekkers end up choosing Kurinjal. But even Kurinjal has its crowds nowadays. Valikunja, however, is still off most people’s radars. On most days, you would have the entire trail for yourself. This seclusion is a very calming experience ...

Along the way, the lush forest views and numerous streams provided a picturesque backdrop that left a lasting impression. While toilet facilities were limited and food options near the forest entrance were basic, proper planning and packing the right gear, such as sturdy shoes with a good grip, ensured a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Starting early in the morning allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the serene atmosphere and witness the mesmerizing fog that enveloped the landscape. "Thoroughly enjoyed the trek...12kms too and fro...easy one with some stretches bit steep. On way, plenty of superb forest view and plenty of streams. The views are too good. Will be good to avail a guide to help through. Toilet facilities are hard and food availability near the forest place where we take the pass is very basic in nature. Plan accordingly. Please have a good grip shoes. Seriously enjoyed the whole experience....will be good to start early in the morning to enjoy the full breadth of fog. Will repeat, highly recommended...."
