Coffee Rasmalai || How Coffee Came To India // Simmering Memories I LOVED experimenting with this dish. I had always thought the creaminess of rasmalai and coffee would go great. Like a Desi tiramisu. It tasted great!! but not perfect. There’s a magical dish here that a better cook than me can finesse. :) The story of how coffee came to India is hugely important. "One of the oldest Research Stations for Coffee and Plantation Crops .

The CCRI at Balehonnur has indeed done great service to the planting community in the past over 7 decades or so.
However the current desperate situation in the Coffee plantation sector needs a fresh outlook and plan for the future of this sector is to survive .
The Coffee Board and the Commerce Ministry needs to come up with solutions to the Labour and technical issues faced by the Growers and especially the Small Growers who form 90 percent of this Important Sector .

A special body Free of bondage as well as economic limitations needs to be formed to resolve all major issues within a specific Time Frame. The committee should be dynamic and sensitive to the Growers needs ."

They have developed several cross varieties of coffee to overcome several problems of drought, pest control. They give training and suggestions to coffee planters.
Buildings are good old, almost British time but renovated here and there. Very friendly scientists working over here. We have been here for education trip, students were very happy with loads of information given."
