There are often local markets, small events, and live performances on weekends, which make the area feel lively and welcoming. The atmosphere is calm during the day and charming in the evening when the city lights reflect on the water. A nice place to visit for both locals and tourists!"

"It was the last day of our Canada vacation from the States so we decided to keep it easy. We enjoyed a relaxing ferry ride from Dartmouth to Halifax, where we explored a few shops and had dinner. The ride was cheap and we got a beautiful view of the harbor. Definitely recommend!"

"I routinely use the ferry to commute to and from Halifax which is a lovely little trip with views of the harbor and views of Halifax and Dartmouth downtowns. The ferries are great, but the area serving the should have more restrooms- and too bad that the Tim Hortons by the waiting hall closed. That corner has a whiff of abandon about it.
The farmers’ market on weekends is fun, even if prices bite: the produce quality is appreciated ( oh those fresh eggs from a lively Amish woman!). The bread and sweet selection is ample; the produce doesn’t disappoint either. There’s plenty of handmade trinkets to be eyed. Fish is available, too, both in cooked and raw varieties.
Check out the waterfront trail, sample fish and chips or just hang out in the sun taking in the views."
