"I would recommend doing the 1 mile hike in-and-out trail versus the “figure-8” 2.5 mile hike. You’re not missing out on anything. This isn’t a hike for “the views”, but it was still enjoyable :) I would also recommend stopping by the nice old chap’s shop for one of his paper maps and and afterwards for his delicious banana smoothie $7"

"A quick walk through the jungle to the highest point in the entire Virgin Islands. You can take the short loop for a one hour hike or the long loop for a 2 hour hike. We took the kids so we just did the short hike. My 4 year old daughter had little difficulty making it. Almost the entire way is shaded by the canopy and it is a few degrees cooler up there. Best for a morning hike if you can. The summit has no view except jungle but there is also a viewing platform nearby that looks east ish towards road town.
There is also a nice man with a bar and gift shop at the base that will happily explain everything to you and give you a trail map with the signs and gates marked. He also makes really good banana smoothies. Like really good. Cash only until $30 then you can use CC."

"The park is an amazing and the trails are beautiful. It does need some work done to clean up a lot of damage to some of the structures that the public use. Such as the lookout at the highest point on the island. It has some rotting boards that need to be replaced. But it’s an amazing hike."
