Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Callwood Rum Distillery's authentic, historic charm and the opportunity to taste genuine Caribbean rum. While the tour is brief and the facility rustic, its affordability and connection to centuries of tradition make it a highly recommended stop, especially when combined with nearby Cane Garden Bay. Some visitors note that hours can be inconsistent, so checking ahead is advised.

"I was disappointed we visited the distillery on September 9th, 2025, today and it was closed because it’s slow season. Lots of bars and restaurants are close on the beach for repairs. We were recommended to rhythms and sands restaurants and th b server Alexandria took great care of us. Check-in it out"

"The Callwood Distillery is a real find. This place has been making rum for over 400 years. They still use the same original still and a press that’s over 200 years old. It is $5 per person for a tour that is about 10-15 minutes, it’s well done and worth it. You can get a taste of all four of their rums for $1 afterwards. If you are there while they are making rum you can see the still at work. The sugarcane used is all grown on Tortola. I wouldn’t expect to spend more that 20 minutes here if it’s isn’t crowded. It’s a short walk from Cane Garden beach. Definitely stop in."

"A must see on the island, this unique small and truly rustic distillery was fully functional and dated back to the 1600’s, original building, very interesting.

Sample the rum… very fun labels."
