The road to get there (palm road)is not a pleasant drive --it's a rocky/Stony dirt road (about 2km drive)and I'd suggest if you're coming and it's raining you'd absolutely need a 4wd. We came in a small Kia Rio (which managed the road well ) albeit we had to drive slowly and it did not rain.
The beach is absolutely worth the drive there. The parking is plentiful and close to the beach and there's a make shift changing room behind the Patricia's beach bar where you can change clothes. We didn't see any washroom facilities."

"Smuggler’s Cove is a great beach. But driving there is tricky. The roads are generally incredibly steep, rocky, and have hair-pin turns. You’d need to have healthy tires! Once you get there you can park near the beach and there are two beach bars. You can rent chairs and a few items. There are lovely palm trees at the beach and the water and entry into the water is easy and would be ok for kids, but not necessarily babies and toddlers without close supervision/help. There are some things to see in the water—my son saw an octopus and we saw small fish, an urchin, and coral. So I’d bring a snorkel and mask if you have one. The sand is quite nice and the scenery is amazing."

"Sweet beach between the mountains. Princess and her husband Norbert have a great pop up on the beach with hand crafted art work, Christmas balls and dolls etc ! Lots of locals enjoy this beach .. life guard when he is stationed Mark is delightful ! I always feel better when a beach is guarded .Ms Patricia a family run and makes great fish tacos .."
