What Travellers Say

Visitors consistently praise Kellermeister Wines for its exceptional red wines, particularly the Wild Witch and Black Sash Shiraz, and the charming mud brick cellar door with stunning Barossa Valley views. The friendly staff and delicious platters add to the positive experience. However, some recent visitors have noted a shift towards requiring pre-booked tastings, which can be a disappointment for those expecting a more spontaneous visit.
"A beautiful winery! Staff were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting. The Sable was a favourite of ours 20 years ago and still is (even the label is the same - real dejavu!) Great range of reds to try. Will definitely visit again!!"

"What an amazing experience with Kellermeister that made our trip to Barossa Valley an amazing one!
Firstly, we had a taste test of more than 10 different type of wine, and two more premium ones should we join their membership (at no time we their pushy or salesy at all)
Our guide Andrew was such a patient guy that brought us first time wine drinker on an educational journey. He was patient and gave us time to ask questions and sample the different wines. Also it was free tasting. How good was that! I signed up for 4 bottles on a quarterly basis thereafter and their wines were of good quality as well!
Secondly, they had an amazing seating area with beautiful vast green neighboring views. There were families enjoying the space and greens playing games, chatting, taking pictures etc. There was music and also live music. The staff were friendly and it seems like a small friendly home business.
Last but not least, the meat platter we ordered was delicious, generous and of superb value. We added on an extra cheese and asked for crackers which they gave it to us at no extra charge. The wine servicing we ordered after was generous.
I will not hesitate to refer or bring anyone back there. Thank u for the amazing experience

"My wife and I dropped into Kellermeister today, as we've done many times before, for a casual glass of red and perhaps a platter etc. The young man at the counter informed us that we 'couldn't just buy' a glass of red, we had to partake in tasting ! We have done this here many times in the past. We all know that one glass of red can then lead to 2 and perhaps more, often leading to the purchase of a bottle or two ! This was extremely disappointing to be told this and turned away. Going by this philosophy, I could have tasted every wine they had, then turned around and walked out, without making a single purchase. As it was, I certainly would have purchased at least 2 glasses of wine at probably around $12 a glass. There are tables and chairs outside etc etc presumably to encourage people to stay and drink and eat. Why are they there then....for tasters !! ? This is (WAS) one of our favourite places to drop in. Very disappointed and felt slightly embarrassed to be turned away in front of several customers, with an awkward silence to go with it. An absolute disgrace !! Perhaps casual customers are no longer welcome....just hipsters and 'wine connoisseurs'."
