The fresh, affordable seafood and friendly locals are also major draws. However, some travelers have experienced issues with booking accommodations and found certain facilities to be of lower quality, especially outside of peak summer months.
"Bad experience in booking. The lord land forces us to reserve meal in the hotel."

"If you prefer to see and enjoying natural beach, here is the one of best place, you could experience strong or less waves in different beach in this island. local people friendly honestly and openly. Seafood fresh at very good price, you can buy the fress seafood in local market and ask restaurant help you to cook. Also could bring your food and drinks to the restaurant and they ask for only 2usd services charge. I love this place and will come back again with my honey to enjoy the peaceful natural romantic place."

"Quan Lan is not good destination to travel there in "winter" (till May). There is "nothing". Even in this hotel. In summer it can be good and a woman in recepcion is kind. She was our first englishspeaking person we met in Vietnam (we traveled Nort-part most).
Hotel was not good quality. First look is great. Big restaurant, swimming pool,.. But - water from sink goes everywhere, some lights were out of order, flor was not clean (we tried 3 rooms). They tried to make rooms clean, but not well. For me it was worse vietnamist standard hotel. But in summer it can be different!
On whole island there was NO ONE to rent a bike or kayak. I went into each house to ask, but nothing. There was nothing to do. At the south part of island there is a harbour and town, but after this is one road, 8 km through "nothing" to get to Minh Chau. Beaches were nice. We found many (50) of jellyfish at the beach, white sand, millions of shells, clams,.. in some parts of island we found lovely carnivores.
There was not many restaurants with delicious seafood - we met only two in this part of island. In Minh Chau Beach Resort was everything very expensive (start from fried rice - 100 vnd) and nearby kiosk with fried rice for 30 vnd (with seafood stuff).
One day is too much for this area."
