Reviews Summary

Tashkentland Amusement Park is largely defunct, with most rides non-operational and an abandoned atmosphere. Visitors who appreciate urban exploration and the aesthetics of decay find it interesting, but those expecting a functional amusement park are often disappointed by the lack of attractions and potential safety concerns. Reddit+1

"I visited on a Sunday. This amusement park had no admission fee (October 6th 2024). Only four rides were operating: the haunted mansion, carrousel, bumper cars (though I did not see them work, it said they were open today), and a train for children. The fee to ride the haunted mansion was 20,000 sum. I’m an amusement park geek / nerd, so I totally enjoyed walking through this mostly abandoned park. Based on the growth and height of the trees, bushes and branches on the roller coaster and the cable car, it looks like they have not operated at all for at least 5 years (2019 or 2018 or prior). I saw only two food stalls working in the entire park; most of them were abandoned / emptied out. As for riding the haunted mansion, it is at your own risk and peril haha. The ride worked, I rode it and survived. But the corners were tight and I’m not sure how safe the ride actually is… Overall, if you’re an amusement park fanatic, do visit as it’s a fun hour walking through all the area and imagining it working at its glory. But if you’re just visiting Tashkent, this park is definitely not worth visiting at all."

"The clock passed from 10 a day. But this place is still closed."

"Avoid Tashkentland! Nothing works! I went in the afternoon and most of most of the rides were nonoperational. I only saw two rides moving and everything else was closed with no employees in sight. This is a disgrace considering admission cost 40,000 som! They should at least warn their visitors that most rides are closed or reduce the price."

For Different Travelers

Tailored advice for your travel style

👨‍👩‍👧 Families with Kids

Tashkentland Amusement Park is generally not recommended for families with young children seeking a traditional amusement park experience. The vast majority of rides are non-operational, and the park has an abandoned, somewhat eerie atmosphere. While there might be a children's train and a carousel that occasionally works, the limited attractions and potential safety concerns with the few operating rides make it a risky choice for a family outing. Reddit

If your children are particularly interested in exploring abandoned places or have a fascination with the 'ghost town' aesthetic, a short visit might be tolerable. However, for a fun-filled day with plenty of activities, it's best to consider other family-friendly destinations in Tashkent. Reddit

📸 Photographers & Urban Explorers

For photographers and urban explorers, Tashkentland Amusement Park presents a unique and compelling subject. The overgrown roller coasters, decaying structures, and the general sense of abandonment offer a rich canvas for atmospheric and evocative imagery. The park's state of disrepair, with nature reclaiming its former attractions, creates a visually striking landscape. Reddit

Key photographic opportunities include the skeletal remains of large rides, the silent carousels, and the empty food stalls. The 'Haunted Mansion' ride, even if ridden, can also provide interesting shots. Visiting during the golden hours of sunrise or sunset can further enhance the mood and visual appeal of the decaying park. Reddit

🎢 Amusement Park Enthusiasts

If you are a dedicated amusement park enthusiast who appreciates the history and evolution of parks, Tashkentland might hold some interest. It offers a rare glimpse into a park that has fallen into disuse, allowing you to imagine its past glory and observe the effects of time and nature. The Haunted Mansion is a specific point of interest for its operational status, albeit with safety considerations. Reddit

However, it's crucial to approach this visit with the understanding that it is not a functioning park. You will not find a wide array of rides or the typical park atmosphere. Your enjoyment will stem from observing the remnants and perhaps experiencing the few working attractions, rather than from a day of active entertainment. Reddit

In-depth insights and expert knowledge

The State of Tashkentland: A Ghost Park

Tashkentland Amusement Park, once a vibrant entertainment hub, now largely exists as a testament to faded glory. Many visitors report that the majority of rides are non-operational, with overgrown vegetation reclaiming the tracks of roller coasters and cable cars. This creates a unique, albeit melancholic, atmosphere that appeals to those interested in urban exploration and the aesthetics of decay. Reddit

The Haunted Mansion is one of the few attractions consistently mentioned as still working, though with a caveat about its safety. Other operational rides are scarce, leading to disappointment for those expecting a traditional amusement park experience. The park's condition suggests a significant period of neglect, with many food stalls and attractions remaining empty and abandoned. Reddit

Despite its dilapidated state, Tashkentland offers a peculiar charm for a specific type of visitor. If you're an amusement park aficionado fascinated by the history and decline of such venues, or a photographer seeking atmospheric shots of abandoned structures, it can be a worthwhile, albeit brief, visit. However, for families or thrill-seekers, it's generally not recommended. Reddit

Navigating the Park and Managing Expectations

Visiting Tashkentland requires a significant adjustment of expectations. Unlike a typical bustling amusement park, this destination is characterized by its quietude and the visible signs of disuse. Many visitors have expressed surprise and disappointment upon finding most attractions closed, with some even reporting that the park was still shut well past its advertised opening hours. Reddit

It is highly recommended to verify the operational status of any desired rides before your visit. Information online is often outdated, and on-site confirmation is crucial. If you do decide to visit, be prepared for a limited number of functioning rides, with the Haunted Mansion being a notable, albeit potentially risky, exception. Reddit

For those who appreciate the eerie beauty of abandoned places, Tashkentland can offer a unique experience. The overgrown roller coasters and silent carousels tell a story of a bygone era. However, if your primary goal is a day filled with rides and entertainment, you will likely be disappointed. Reddit
