What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Yonkers Station is praised for its beautiful Beaux-Arts architecture and convenient location, offering scenic Hudson River views. However, some visitors note a lack of amenities like restrooms and suggest being mindful of surroundings due to steep, dimly lit stairs and potential crowds.
"An important historic landmark, telltale of things past, the Yonkers Station is a very busy station as it also serves as a hub for AMTRAK and I recommend seriously being very aware of your sorroundings.
Whether entering or exiting the station on your way to and from the platforms, the stairs are quite steep and not terribly well lit. I did not noticed any surveillance equipment.
There are elevators but use your common sense getting into them.
Otherwise, the platforms are relatively clean considering... and they have Departure Boards, soda/snacks vending machines etc."

"I HAD BEING HERE BEFORE AND IS THE FIRT TIME I SEE TORTOISES.
IS VERY RELAXING TO SHARE WITH THE NATURE.
THIS SEASON IS VERY INTRESTING AND BEAUTIFUL, I ENJOY TO SEAT IT HERE AND TO KEEP IN SILENT"

"Convenient location for me, right by friends' locations. I travel into NY by plane and am carting around a double guitar case with a small suitcase strapped to that plus a backpack so easy access for me to the second level via the elevator. Relatively clean as far as NY train stations go. I'm usually taking this line down to Grand Central to connect with airport shuttles on Lexington and it couldn't be a smoother process. Get the MTA apps and it's all a cake walk."
