"We drove up from Chicago on Monday morning at 7am, arrived in Winona, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for the visitation and mass for my cousin, Lucretia "Lu" neé Scanlan Heer LaFavor, born 1932-died 2022. She was Irish to the core, always. She was everyone's mom, whether you were her child or not, she was always available to talk, to ask advice, to ask anything, to talk to whenever!
She had 8 kids, all are either singers or musicians or both. I enjoyed every minute of being able to say my final goodbye to one of my favorite cousins in law.
Her first husband, James Heer, was my brother's godfather, he is my dad's first cousin, and everyone in our family, basically either called him Dad or Donald Duck, because he could do Donald's voice so we'll that was his nickname, next to Jim."
