What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Willow Springs Lake for its stunning natural beauty, clear waters, and abundant opportunities for fishing and paddling. The peaceful, no-wake environment is a major draw. However, some reviewers note that the lake can get crowded on weekends, and there are occasional concerns about litter and discarded fishing hooks, suggesting a need for increased visitor responsibility.
"We’ve been to this lake many times- to the front side and back sides. Always a good time. No motor boats allowed. We’ve kayaked, swam, cliff jumped, fished and sailed on this lake. The kids generally find cast off hooks and line to catch fish with and will catch many while there. It is a busy lake on weekends but if you drive around, you should be able to find a spot. There is one place to cliff jump but the lake is so low right now you’d really have to be careful and check the bottom to find a spot to safely jump."
Caralee Alldredge
"Beautiful scenery.. the lake itself however is not well taken care of. We stayed in the same spot and found 5 different fish hooks. One if which was stepped on and stuck to the foot of a little boy.
If you’re going during busy season or a weekend good luck finding somewhere to park."

"This is a beautiful area to hike. 8 miles around the lake. A lot of boulders on some parts easier hiking on others. But beautiful scenery wherever you look. Lots of birds and fishing going on. The trail is not well marked. You just follow the lake. But once you are committed it is a long hike. It will take most of the day if you are stopping to gaze at the scenery, taking pictures or snacking on a lunch. Take plenty of water. You will not be disappointed in the views. A day well spent with a friend, by yourself or with a furry companion."
