What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise 24th Street Park for its vibrant atmosphere and free entertainment, making it a popular spot for families and budget travelers. While the park itself is a great asset, attendees frequently mention that parking can be a significant challenge, especially during events, and crowds can become quite dense.
"This weekend I won tickets (2) two day tickets to the Funk Fest in Virginia Beach, VA. Compliments of 100.5 the VIBE Radio Station. Big Ups to Dee!! I was on the Scene front and center!!! I had so much fun jamming to the music of all the Funky Ole School artists that kept us grooving for two days. I bought one of my friends who needed to get out. We both had a Funky Good Time. Even my parking was (free) because I had a plug in with Beach Bully's Bar B Q on 19th Street from my friend Cecil a long time Chief, who authorized my free parking. Thank you soo much Cecil!!! Now, back to the show folks. To me, the best night was Friday because Doug E. Fresh turned the show out!! He kept us on our feet rocking to the beat. Truthfully, all the artists did their thing but I will put "Doug E Fresh and the Get Fresh Crews," performances a Funk Fest Fiasco.... So if you want a free, fun filled, exciting day or night or two out,- tune your radio to 100.5 The VIBE, pick up your phone when they ask for the 10th caller. It's just that easy! Enjoy my picks and thanks for visiting my reviews...,.. Turtles!

"My husband and I have attended all the Funk Festival.. say no more. They have plenty of food and vendors there. They have lots of portable toilets on the beach. It's just basic public restrooms on the outside.Enjoyed every year and looking forward to this August. Nice line up again. Thank you Va Beach. The parking is insane though."

The Magic of Free Events
Seasonal festivals, such as the popular Funk Fest, bring an extra layer of excitement. These larger gatherings often feature multiple performers over a weekend, along with a variety of food vendors and craft stalls. The park's amphitheater stage serves as the focal point for many of these performances, providing a dedicated space for entertainment. It's this consistent offering of free, accessible fun that makes 24th Street Park a beloved spot.
Navigating Parking and Crowds
Consequently, crowd management is key. During popular free concerts or festivals, expect significant crowds. For those seeking a more relaxed experience, visiting on a weekday afternoon when crowds are minimal offers a peaceful enjoyment of the park's amenities and oceanfront proximity.
