Sunset photoshoot on Tybee yesterday left me realizing that I only have a short time left to enjoy my hometown beach. So many memories here — since I was a baby and small kid! And then all of my babies. My whole life has been in this city and on this island. Just soaking in the Tybee beauty and cotton candy sunsets while I can. I’m going to miss this island a little more than I thought 🤍

"The Tybee Island Light Station & Museum is absolutely incredible! The history and preservation are top notch, and everything is beautifully maintained. The museum itself is full of fascinating details and gives you such a deep appreciation for the lighthouse and its place in history.
Climbing the lighthouse was such a memorable experience. I’ll admit, the height gave me a little bit of anxiety on the way up, but it was 100% worth it once we reached the top. The 360-degree views of the island and ocean are simply breathtaking — you can see all of Tybee laid out beneath you, and it’s a view you’ll never forget.
The staff and volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable, and you can really tell they care about keeping this historic site alive for future generations. If you’re visiting Tybee, this is a must-see. "One of the bucket list things to do in Savannah area. Went on a holiday weekend and it was not too bad. There was a bit of wait due to limit but not bad. The walk up is not too bad but 178 steps up spiral staircase may turn into more depending on if groups are trying down at the same time and you back down to landing. We were there and a staff member was testing wind speed. Apparently we were only a little breeze away from closing down. The breeze though stiff was a great cool down in the late summer heat. The property display houses and museum were a nice touch."

Howard Marlow

"Great views from the top, but be ready for a climb! The spiral stairs to the top were fun, and they make sure they only allow so many people going up or down at any one time. They even tell you who has right of way and how to safely pass people if you meet up.

There is no air conditioning, so if you go in the summer be prepared. They do have windows open along the climb to allow air flow. Once you reach the top, you can go outside on the cat walk and get a 360 degree view. Totally worth the effort and entry price!"
