What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Rock Creek Parkway to be a beautiful and peaceful paved trail, perfect for walks, runs, and picnics with plenty of shady spots and benches. The chance to see wildlife like badgers is a highlight, though a short section near factories can have an odor. Overall, it's a well-loved local spot for relaxation and light activity.
"I entered Rock Creek to go hiking up off of Shoshone Street. There is parking and a porta potty right there. Note: There is no where to use the restroom on the hike to where I was. Also, I didn't notice this on the way down, however it is a road on the short decline down. When I was coming back up there was a car driving down as I imagine there must be a residence. So be careful to not let your children or animals run up ahead of you. It's only about a block decline or so and then it flats out to where no motor vehicles are allowed."

"Its beautiful! There are wild rose hips, the trail is right along the river and it's a very decent trail length-wise. It starts at one end of town, near the gas Station across from Depot Grill and continues passed the old hospital to the Rock Creek Park and goes even passed that. It has a disc gold course, benches along the way and lots of shady trees. It's peacful as well."

"Lovely paved walking trail with benches and picnic tables along the way. Some of the benches are near the water and shaded making nice cool resting spots even when it's hot, sunny and not a cloud in sight. Halfway through the trail is a nice spot to picnic (picture with the large willow) there's a bench, picnic table and wide open grassy area with a rock border.
Part of the trail that goes by the factories does smell pretty bad but it's a short part of the trail.
Bonus, we saw a badger. Got a video of it while being quiet and standing well back not disturbing him."
