What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Terre Haute Action Track offers an authentic, old-school dirt racing experience with affordable infield tickets and easy parking. While some visitors note a need for facility updates and occasional negative staff interactions, the thrill of sprint and midget car racing on Indiana's only 1/2 mile dirt oval makes it a worthwhile gamble for many.
"This track seems to have an odd reputation, I've made the trip 3 times, 1 of the 3 was rained out despite not having any rain in the area in over 24 hours before the start of the event 💁, the other two times put on phenomenal shows. All three times there seemed to be an overall negative feel from the staff and spectators, with staff at two of the shows expressing fristrations with the track. Overall 15 bucks for infield tickets, worth the gamble to see some racing from a unique infield experience"

"One of the few old school classic dirt tracks left in the nation. Parking is open and easy to get in and out of. The midway offered plenty of choices of food and drinks. The main stands are covered and provided shade but if you sit towards turn 1 you will be looking at the sun as it sits over turn 3.
You can tell it’s an old track but don’t let that fool you! The Action Track lives up to its name!"

"Overall an average experience. The venue has plenty of parking and is easily accessible. However it is need of an update. There was only one food stand with two people serving, attempting to accomodate a full venue. The line was no less than 15-20 min all night. The viewing is average from the grandstand and the dust further impedes the view of sections of the track. Dust can be accepted, it is a dirt track. However dust that is that thick it limits your view of half of the track cannot."
