Talk about a dandy! The sunny skies & butter-dotted fields made way for a brilliant morning at Gould Meadows in Stockbridge ☀️ Our out & back hike to the Bowl was punctuated with bird-sightings, pinecone picking, big jumps, and wildflower id’ing. We ended with snacks (of course) and a dandy-lion activity for fine-motor skill development 🦁 Thank you to everyone who came! And to @southberkshirek...

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Gould Meadows for its beautiful, accessible nature trails and serene lakeside views. It's praised as one of the most beautiful spots in the Berkshires, perfect for easy walks and photography. However, the prevalence of ticks requires consistent vigilance.

"Great easy 30 minute to one hour walk to the lake and back. Several lovely interconnecting trails through fields and woods. Rolling terrain close to and next to the lake called Stockbridge Bowl. Photos from mid April."

Margaret Katz

"One of the most beautiful places in the Berkshires. It is not even on Google maps! The view there is so beautiful."

George Farah

"Gorgeous walk down to the lake - Stockbridge Bowl - which starts at Gould Meadow - a lovely grassy open field that leads into the woods and across a lovely small stream.

You can do a circular walk across open small fields just below Tanglewood and along a narrow wooded path along the lake filled with new and old trees. Easy to moderate walk.

Good all year. Wear sneakers or boots with good tread especially in wet times/ seasons. In winter use a walking stick and or yak tracks or similar tread in ice and snow.

Check yourself for ticks 10 months of the year. Stay to the path and don't brush against branches and mostly you will be tick free. All of Bershire walks and most lawns require tick checks. Black Deer Legged Ticks - the one that carries Lyme and other nasty diseases tend to be most active in the shoulder seasons and when nights are cool but it varys year to year. Don't let it stop you. It's a great walk."
