What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park to be an interesting and informative stop, particularly appreciating the knowledgeable staff and the unique historical context of the town. While some note ongoing renovations and wish for more specific souvenirs, the park offers a valuable glimpse into French colonial history.
"Interesting place. Inside you can see pieces of the original home and there are rocks (gems?) to look at from the area. Lots of historical information. Kind of like a mini museum. Only thing, I wish they had souvenirs from Ste Genevieve instead of Missouri only."
Marybeth Oneal
"It was a cute town filled with old houses. I would definitely recommend going spring through fall. I went on a winter Sunday and everything was closed and the town seemed dead. The ladies in the visitor's center are friendly. I think a lot of things are still getting renovated in this park. It might be much nicer once everything is completed. Not my favorite National Historic Park, but if you are in the area, it's worth stopping by."
Gracie Gralike
"I stopped by during the week and there was no one there but my mom and I
.The ladies there very knowledgeable about the town and it's history. They were able to suggest a book about my 6th great grandfather, Charles La Vallee."
