What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise LaPlatte River Nature Park for its beautiful natural scenery, especially the river, falls, and pedestrian bridge, making it a lovely local spot for walks and kayaking. However, some find the trail maps and markings confusing, which can detract from the experience.
"This is a beautiful place to walk around, even on a rainy day! I've been back a few times, it is a very very nice local place to explore!
The main issue I had though was confusing and inconsistent trail maps and markings, making it difficult to figure out where you are in the park."
Noah
"It's about a 15 minute walk with hills. The trail is easy to follow and the falls are definitely worth it! Loved it!"
Tiffany Wood
"So what I initially thought was the start of the pedestrian bridge at Falls Road was actually the attempted installation of a lamprey control barrier. Heavy rains on 10/31/2021 almost destroyed the sandbags set up during installation and they were removed and stored, presumably for another attempt this summer.
Updates 2022 & 2024:
Lamprey control dam was completed 2022, and pedestrian bridge was completed 11/2024."
