The pow wow is described as a sacred, solemn, and lively spectacle. Some attendees noted a need for more seating and occasionally found the Master of Ceremonies' jokes to be unfunny.
"The pow wow was a scared, solemn, and a lively parade. Such beautiful costumes and custums, they're practicing ancient traditions, in a sovereign nation, I was honored to attend!! I would recommend this cultural experience"

"I attended the 2025 WACIPI. The event was so well organized, from parking assistance, to having golf carts drive us to the grounds. Great food and a very awe-inspiring event. Would definitely go back in the future!"

"Seemed organized and planned well in advance starting with ample parking and shuttle rides to/from and friendly helpful staff. A LOT of people attended and there were numerous food and merchandise stalls to suit nearly every taste. Reports there were >1200 registered dancers and >200 tribes participating and/or competing. My main interest was photography and I feel well-rewarded with the colorful dances, costumes and the variety of faces old and young.
Arranged around a giant grassy circle with significant flags and pendants clustered in the center and steel/aluminum granstand seating around the circumference. Started off with the grand parade entrance, all participants marching in circles around the ground. Followed by various events such as Men's and Women's Fancy Dress dancing competitions around the same circle.
My only cons would be that more seating was needed and the master of ceremonies often cracked unfunny jokes, I can't really hold back top scores for these."

Photography at the Wacipi
When photographing, it's essential to be mindful of cultural sensitivities. While general photography is usually allowed, always ask for permission before taking close-up shots of individuals, especially dancers. Respect their space and privacy, particularly during performances or competitions. The Grand Entry, with all participants marching in a circle, is a particularly iconic moment for capturing the scale and energy of the event.
Consider visiting during the 'golden hour' – the period shortly after sunrise or before sunset – for the most flattering light.
