What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise the Minnesota Renaissance Festival for its vibrant atmosphere, diverse entertainment, and unique food options. While some find the food prices and parking costs to be on the higher side, many feel the overall experience, especially the jousting and fire shows, is well worth the visit. The grounds can get muddy after rain, so proper footwear is recommended.
"The food wasn't as good as I had remembered, but we last went like 5 years ago, lol. Jousting was pretty cool. They also have VIP spots you can pay little extra for but totally worth it. snacks included & juice, a nice chilling area away from the crowds, they have Private bathrooms with hot water running water, ect... overall, besides for the crowd we had a good time. Oh and they had a dungeon/museum you can walk through and learn how prisoners were treated during the Renaissance times."

"Love going every year to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. You have to pay for parking (by parking pass before you get there to save a lot of money) or you can take a shuttle bus from locations nearby listed on the website.
They have an outstanding variety of food (they had sushi this year! What!!). Bread bowl soups are always a must for me. Plus a nut roll on the way out of the fair before I leave.
The grounds are mostly dirt so if recently rains expect mud. Stroller friendly but of course bumpy. Air conditioned first aid room available for breastfeeding moms. Bring cash…some places charge extra to use a card. Dress up! It’s so much fun!"

"The Renaissance Festival is such a fun experience. There is something for everyone with plenty of delicious food, live entertainment like circus acts, music, storytelling, and even jousting shows. Many visitors dress in Renaissance era costumes, which adds to the festive atmosphere, and it is very family friendly.
One thing to note is that outside water is not allowed, but you can bring an empty bottle to refill at the three water stations (located near each bathroom area). The fair can get pricey: tickets for two adults were around $62, and onsite parking cost $30. Be aware that if you leave and want to return the same day, you’ll have to pay the $30 again. There is a park and ride option for $6 per person, but on a hot day it’s worth paying for parking onsite so you can cool off in your car before heading back in. You do get a stamp on your hand for re entry, which helps if you want to take breaks.
Overall, this festival is a wonderful way to spend the day. Between the shows, food, costumes, and family friendly atmosphere, it’s well worth visiting if you don’t mind the higher cost."
