"A beautiful Gothic synagogue.
Originally the 3rd congregations in America created in 1734, after Newport and New York.
The first immigrants where jews originated from Portugal through England.
This edifice was built in 1870 and became officially a reform synagogue in 1904."

Bernard DRAI

"This is such a beautiful synagogue. If I'm not mistaken, it is the third oldest congregation in America. I took an 11am tour that is also scheduled a few more times during the day, and I'm glad I did. I learned a lot about its history and saw a small museum on the 2nd floor that has 2 Torah Scrolls dating back to the 15th century. I highly recommend taking the tour."

Slava Kramarov

"Gorgeous synagogue!! It's a work of meaningful art everywhere you glance! Definitely worth the time and money for a tour!!
They also have a small museum on the second level with many things to see, not to mention, two very old Torah scrolls on deerskin. Their treasured possessions!"
