Step inside and you’re greeted with a warm, peaceful space filled with intricate details and spiritual beauty. "Beautiful inside and out, services are beautiful. It's open often when there are street festivals, just follow their web page and you can see what's going on. They have Buddhist educational materials in the office if you are curious.
The smell of the incense inside will trigger deep childhood memories, and it's a lovely, peaceful, place.
Finally, I am forever indebted to Rinban Sakamoto for introducing me to the shakuhachi flute. Years ago, I was an an adult Buddhism class there and was talking with another student, saying I'd tried just about every instrument "except maybe the shakuhachi". Rinban Sakamoto surprised us by handing each of us a PVC beginner shakuhachi that he'd made personally. I knew if I covered all holes I'd get a low tone, and had an idea how to bend the tone, which I did. My reaction: "Wow!"
If it were not for Rinban Sakamoto, I may not have been introduced to the shakuhachi for years, if ever. It is difficult to play, but rewarding in a way very few instruments are.
I don't know how active the shakuhachi club is at present, but Rinban Sakamoto is a wonderful teacher and all heart."

"This is my favorite temple, it is always open, and there are also many cards there that you can take for free!! Also, where the seats are, there are books (as I understand it, something like prayers or mantras). But it was empty and there were no people. I also noticed that they offer free cheats, but it was empty :("
