"The pier was great. My family and I stayed in San Clemente for the weekend and arrived by metrolink. The station is right by the pier. To our surprise we were greeted by a lively scene. There were all types of vendors by the pier, they had a Jr surfing competition, swimming competition. On Saturday the had all kinds of classic woody cars on display. Sunday they had classic VW Buses on display right on the pier. Live music on the beach all kinds of food. The event was very fun and family friendly.
There are many shops and restaurants nearby. Getting around was easy. San Clemente has a trolley service during the summer and is free of charge (we did tip the driver for their excellent service).
We will definitely come back for the beach fest and maybe stay for two nights instead of one."
