Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Witte Museum for its engaging and educational exhibits, particularly the dinosaur displays and the 'Staying Alive' animal exhibit. The blend of history, art, and science, along with interactive elements, makes it a hit for all ages. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, some visitors have encountered specific issues, such as service animal policies.

"Visiting the Witte Museum was an absolutely incredible experience! The "Staying Alive: Animal Defenses" exhibit was not only educational but also exciting and beautifully curated. The live animal show was a highlight—engaging, well-presented, and perfect for all ages. The informational displays alongside each animal offered fascinating insights into how creatures survive in the wild using camouflage, mimicry, and other defense mechanisms.

Beyond that, the museum's general art and science exhibits were equally impressive, blending history, culture, and interactive learning in a way that kept me hooked the entire visit. You can truly tell how much care goes into every corner of the museum.

If you’re visiting San Antonio, even if you only have a small interest in science, animals, or art—this museum is a must-visit. It’s fun, affordable, and packed with discovery. And the best part? Admission is free every Tuesday from 3–6 PM, making it accessible for everyone. Don't miss out!"

"Definitely had some nice things to learn about, and it was interactive for the kids.
The only issue I had was that my service dog, who is now 16 years old, wasn’t aloud in.
I don’t think they believed she was a real service dog because we brought her in a stroller. But due to her age, I have her living the life of luxury now.
She still does her job, though she doesn’t have to do as much. Specifically, she will bark to let me know when I need to find a safe place and lie down.
Other than that, it was a really nice and educational experience.

I basically just took a risk, you could say, because I had brought my kids all the way out here and wasn’t going to let them miss out just because I didn’t plan for any issues."

"This was my 3rd time to San Antonio and I came across this wonderful place. The outside of the building makes it look rather small. Once inside there was do such to see within several buildings. The history of Texs and San Antonio were so well displayed with many sound activated areas, holograms, and interactive aread for kids and adults. My favorite was ghe displayed firmal gowns from past Fiesta festivals which are celebrated the week leading up to Cinco de Mayo. We were there for 3 hrs. without any crowds. The ticket price is $17 or less depending on ages and it was FREE for us using our Minnesota History Society membership. A 10 min
walk through a park will get you to the Zoo or Japanese Tea Garden with are next to each other. The VIA city bus is a great way to get there and back from downtown."
